Since its beginning, this heartwarming initiative has featured over 2,000 dogs and raised more than $170,000 for animal charities worldwide.
This year, 100% of your participation fee will be donated to Mackay Pet Rescue Inc
AND all proceeds from the book sales will be donated to Geelong Animal Welfare Society

Tails of the World 2025 - Book Project Fundraiser
ONLY 10 SESSIONS AVAILABLE
Tropical Petography has been chosen as the official photographer for the Mackay Region in the 2025 edition of the internationally celebrated book, Tails of the World!
We’re now inviting pet lovers to apply for a limited number of exclusive photo sessions taking place across the stunning Mackay region from May to July 2025.
These sessions are a unique opportunity to have your beloved pet featured in an international book in our region’s breathtaking locations—from sun-kissed beaches to scenic parks.
10 SESSIONS AVAILABLE
- $150 Participation fee - note: The Tails of the World book is NOT included.
- Sessions will be held between May and July 2025.
- 100% of the Participation fee goes to Mackay Pet Rescue Inc
- Sessions take place in locations in Mackay
- One image from each session will be included in Tails of the World 2025 edition (Available to order online in Nov 2025)
NOTE: The Tails of the World book is not included with your participation fee. All proceeds from Book Sales go to Geelong Animal Welfare Society.

What is Tails of the World?
Tails of the World is a global photography project featuring professional pet photographers from around the world. Each edition is published as a beautiful hardcover coffee table book celebrating dogs and the love their humans have for them. Best of all, it raises funds for local animal rescue organisations.

WHEN WILL THE PHOTO SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Sessions will be held in the Mackay region between May and July 2025. Once your application is approved, we’ll schedule your shoot during this window.

WILL MY PET BE IN THE BOOK?
Yes! If your Pet is one of the 10 selected to participate, one image from your session will be featured in the 2025 Tails of the World coffee table book along with dogs from all over the globe.
You’ll have the opportunity to purchase your own copy of the book when it’s released.

What's included in the Participation fee?
Your participation fee includes:
-A 30-minute outdoor photo session in a beautiful Mackay location
-A guaranteed spot in the Tails of the World book
-One complimentary 8"x12" Matted print
-The opportunity to purchase additional artwork, prints, or digital images if you wish (with no pressure!)
